How to Receive Salvation:
- 1. God’s Purpose
- God loves you & offers you abundant & eternal life
- John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
- John 10:10 — “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
- 2. Our Need
- People are sinful & separated from God & the life He offers
- Rom. 3:23 — “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
- Rom. 6:23 — “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- 3. God’s Provision
- Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin. Through Him you can come to God & have the life He offers.
- John 14:6 — “Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- 1 Pet. 3:18 — “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit”
- 4. Our Response
- We must receive Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord through personal invitation
- John 1:12 — “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
- Rev. 3:20 — “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
- We receive Jesus through praying a prayer of repentance from our sin, asking Him to forgive us, and allowing Him to be our Savior and Lord by humbling ourselves before Him, and releasing control of our ives to Him.
